Our name Momentum is taken from the book of Acts 2:42-47 which states:

.And they devoted themselves to the apostles. teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.. (Acts 2:42-47 ESV)

And they devoted themselves to the apostles. teaching and the fellowship:

As the early church devoted themselves to the apostle’s teaching the same is true at Momentum.? Students learn the ‘nuts ‘n bolts’ of following Jesus and become grounded in the truth in the following ways:

* One-on-one discipleship: this is done to lay down the foundation that a Christian life is built on.

* Small groups: Small groups allow kids to hang out with an adult sponsor/youth pastor and see a real life example of what following Jesus looks like.

* Sunday & Wednesday verse-by-verse Bible teaching

to the breaking of bread and the prayers:

As the church broke bread together and prayed together so does the youth at Momentum.? While the culture has changed since the early church the foundation has remained the same.? We break bread by going out each month in fellowship and love.? This gives each student the opportunity to grow with other brothers and sisters in the Lord thereby growing in their faith.

Twice a year we attend camps where students can get away from the routine of school and home and spend some time with the Lord.

And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need:

Opportunities are given in the form of:

* Discipling other students
* Leading or assisting in a small group
* Teaching students a short lesson/devotional
* Being there when someone needs prayer
* Serving in the body and in the community in various capacities

And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved:

As the early church remained faithful in teaching the Word the Lord added to that number daily. At Momentum we provide opportunities to reach out the lost in the following manner:

* We provide activities outside the church building where students can invite their friends who may be unchurched and turned off by going to church.
* We offer a Sunday and Wednesday service where the Word of God is taught and the gospel preached.
* We equip our students to go into their world where they will live and share their faith.

As the church started 2000 years ago, we carry on what the Spirt of God has been doing since then.
